F
orty years ago I began working in the Civil Service and with
one of my first salary cheques I bought a SLR Camera. At
the same time I began working on my book The County
Wicklow Database (published in 2006). It traces the history of
County Wicklow in the categories of Transport, Education,
Religion, Human Endeavour, Sport, Flora and Fauna. So my
brother and I set off for Greystones with the new camera and
some vintage images of Greystones. We were going to replicate
these Victorian/Edwardian images with more up to date 1970s
style images of the same locations.
The first stop was at the junction of La Touche Place and
Church Road opposite Fenton Fires shop.
